In the beginning, The Artist Trebor – know as Rob or Robbie at the time – created scribbles and messes. Mainly on the walls of his home just out of Wellington, New Zealand. His mum and dad eventually let him paint murals on his bedroom walls as an outlet for his desire to paint.
Through his school years he would keep drawing and painting. Able to paint portraits and still life, Trebor preferred to explore abstractions and geometric art forms, eventually looking to surrealism as a foundation for his work.
After graduating Wellington Polytechnic in 1984 with a Diploma in Visual Communication Design and Photography, he pursued a career in advertising as an Art Director. 35+ years later, Trebor has rediscovered his creative roots and embarked on a new excursion back into the world of ‘art’.
Like this daisy emerging from the brickwork, Trebor too is emerging from the hardened clay moulded corporate world, to grow and bloom and bring some visual beauty back into the world.

‘Poppy The Swan’

This piece comes with a heavy heart. The image depicts one of the beautiful Black Swans that graced Lake Orr’s shores. You’ve probably seen her and her family often. However, in late November 2023, Poppy, as she was affectionately known, was injured by a Bull Shark, which are prevalent in the lake. She was rushed to the local veterinary surgeon, but sadly she could not be saved. In loving memory of Poppy, this artwork shows her with two of her four cygnets and serves as a tribute to her nurturing spirit.
Proceeds from the sale of prints of this artwork will be donated to a Gold Coast charity to help save the Black Swans and other endangered animals facing various threats.
